Kaszazz Ebony and Ivory Surprise Box

Hello,

This is a project I started a while ago and have had the chance to finally finish it!  I had purchased a surprise box kit from Kaszazz which had all the papers, ribbons etc required to complete the box.  The papers are just gorgeous - named Ebony and Ivory.

Top View of the box - I decided to use Cogs and clocks as my theme for this project.  For the outside I painted chipboard cogs with Distress Paint and added these with a clock charm to the Box lid. I used Black rhinestones and ric-rac ribbon to finish it off.

Side View - I randomly placed a painted chipboard cog on all four sides of the box.

Inside View:  I die-cut smaller cogs and placed them in the corners of all the inside faces of the box, allowing room for photos to be added at a later date.

I changed a couple of papers for the inside of the box by adding some other papers from my stash as I loved the papers from the kit and want to use them for a different project.

Off to finish another project I have started....
Have a great day!

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Lattice Petite Petals

Lattice Petite Petals

For this card I have used white, crisp cantaloupe and pistachio card.
Emboss a panel (slightly smaller then the card front) in the decorative dots embossing folder, distress the edges, then attach to the card front.
In the centre of a piece of white card die cut the lattice then remove the shape. Tape a piece of Venetian Romance dsp to the back of the aperture then run through the decorative dots embossing folder. Distress the edges and attach a strip of ruffled cantaloupe ribbon to the bottom of this panel, then add a silver mini brad to each corner. Tape this piece to the top section of the card, then using glue dots fix the lattice die cut back into place. Add a rhinestone to the centre.
Using Perfectly penned stamp set and cantaloupe ink stamp the sentiment onto white card, cut into a rectangle and distress the edges.
Using petite petals punch, punch eight flowers from venetian romance paper, shape, and join in pairs with mini silver brads, to make four flowers.
Using little leaves sizzlet die and pistachio card cut two sets of leaves. Trim two leaves from one of the cuts. With a pistachio marker draw veins on the leaves. Add these two leaves and one flower to the end of the sentiment section then fix to lower card front.
Add the remaining leaves and flowers to the lattice section and two rhinestones  to the bottom corner of the sentiment.

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Zoo Review - Masculine birthday

Zoo Review - Masculine birthday
The card base is burgundy.
Using black stazon ink, stamp the zebra onto white card and also onto a post-it note. Cut out the post-it image slightly inside the lines and place over the card image as a mask. Stamp the giraffe over this (I used stazon saddle brown ink), then remove the mask. Fill in the lower section of the panel with a grass image (mine is a Stampscapes design). LIghtly sponge the background areas with olive and soft sky inks, then roughly distress the edges and run a burgundy marker around them.
Stamp and emboss a birthday sentiment onto sahara sand paper then distress and ink the edges.
Tape the stamped panel to this, add brads to the corners, wrap a black ribbon across then fix the whole panel to the card front.
Stamp the lion (I used stazon rusty brown & saddle brown inks) onto a piece of white card, dab on colour as before, distress and ink the edges then attach to the card using dimensionals. Add a small coloured pearl to the top left corner.

Kaszazz Australian Animals - Easel Cards

G'day!

I am sharing with you more of my Australia Cards today - Easel Cards this time.  I love easel cards - this is another great card fold that can be used as a display...

 A Kangaroo...

And a Koala.

To create the Kangaroo Easel card I created the background by using several different font styles which I stamped randomly over a sky blue coloured plain paper. I used a red card base, added a white layer and then my blue background.  The stitched ribbons are from Stampin' Up.  The kangaroo is from a Kaszazz Stamp Set - Australian Animals.  I purchased the Australia brass charm through ebay and the flag is a cocktail pick.

Here is the inside view of the kangaroo card. I have left the card blank - plenty of space for writing!

Onto the Koala Card. The koala is from the same Kaszazz Australian Animals stamp Set. (sorry he is a bit hard to see in this photo - he is shiny from being embossed...) The branch he is sitting on is from A Stampin Up set - Take Care. A couple of leaves, a koala charm and Stampin Up ribbon were also added to my card. I used a blue card base, added a layer of red and a layer of white underneath my blue background.

Th inside of the koala card - plenty of space for writing here also.

Another great thing about an easel card is - yes you can fold them down flat to be able to place them in an envelope!

A Kangaroo and a Koala - almost sounds like the name of a book!
Hope you are enjoying my Australia Cards?? You are?? Great, as I do have more to show you!!
Tomorrow perhaps,
See you back here again soon!

Snowflakes are Winter's Butterflies...

Hello to you,

This is a bit exciting for me as this is the first scrapbook page that I have posted on our blog.... no, it is not the first page I have ever created it is just the first one I am showing you - not for any particular reason - I would just like to share....

These beautiful photos were taken on a recent holiday in the snow - from our Hotel Window - snow really is so beautiful - just like butterflies are!!

I am not sure how closely you have looked at my page - but on every page that I create I add a touch of my personality - I write the word LOVE, I add a heart brad and I add the date the photos were taken - did you spot all these details??  There is one more - on most of my pages I add a tag - a discreet tag in case I wish to add a personal message or quote - can you see the tag hiding in there?

On the back of all the pages that I create I write the date I created them - for future reference should I ever need it and also so I can see how my styles and tastes have changed on my scrapbooking journey.  Do you add personal touches to all of your pages?

If you wish to see a basic step by step instruction on how I created this page and a list of the products used please visit  Wild About Scrap's Blog.

Have a fantastic day,

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Lovely as a Tree- masculine birthday card

Lovely as a Tree- masculine birthday card

Hi Everyone
This side opening card has a base of river rock. A panel of soft suede card was embossed in a branches folder, wrapped twice with linen thread and knotted through a button. Brads were added to three corners and the whole panel attached to the base.
Lovely as a tree was inked at the bottom of the image with soft suede ink, and the tree tops with olive ink and stamped onto vanilla card. This was then die cut into an oval and dabbed with olive and soft sky inks for a hint of colour. A larger oval was die cut from artichoke card, embossed in branches and matted behind. This whole piece was attached to the card front with dimensionals.
Happy birthday was stamped in olive onto vanilla card, the ends shaped and then attached with dimensionals.

Australia Cards continued ...

How's it going mate??

More Australia cards to show you today...  These are the standard fold cards I have created with an Australian theme.

Again, I have used papers from the Bella Australiana Paper Pad.  The two cards featuring Birds required no more embellishing apart from the wording (Eclectic Images and Australian Geographic Font Set) and bling.  For the other two cards I stamped and embossed the Australia Outline using a stamp from Eclectic Images and the Kangaroo is from a Kaszazz Set Australian Animals.

I have created all the insides fairly similar - very Australian - "Greetings from Downunder" and another Bird friend.

Keep an eye out for more of my Australia cards coming soon!

Australians all let us rejoice....

G'day from Downunder....

I have been creating a selection of  "Australia" cards - my daughter and I are going to Japan later in the year for our School trip and we will need a few cards while we are there....

These are the gatefold cards I made.  The paper is from a Australiana Paper Pad by Bella, The Australia map and Wording Clear Stamps are from an Australian Company - Eclectic Images and the Koala and Kangaroos are from a Kaszazz Stamp Set called Australian Animals.

The Australia Flag is a actually a cocktail pick.  The wording on this particular card is from an Australian Geographic Font Set that I have had for many years. I stamped with versamark and black embossed the koala.

This is the inside of the Koala card - I used the same paper on the front as I used on the inside with most of these gatefold cards.  Stamped the kangaroo and koala and then added a border frame with a black pen.

I have created a few cards with different fold types which I will show you over the next few days.

Back again soon,

Sweet Nothings-Sympathy Card

Hello
Today I am sharing with you a beautiful Sympathy card.

The card base uses Stampin'up smoky slate card, and the sentiment (from JustRite stampers) is stamped on S'up vanilla card.
The card front is matted with paper from Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings 6 1/2" paper pad, which was first embossed, the edges distressed and shaded with TH antique linen ink. A shaded paper doily was then attached.
The sentiment was stamped with Coffee archival ink, die cut into a circle, then distressed and shaded, and attached to the lower right.
Three Sweet nothings collectibles were then attached using glue dots, and dimensionals for the basket. Three mini paper blooms with the stems curled were tied with a bow and then attached.
Three pearls to the top left corner and a tiny silver heart brad to the bottom right, finished off the design.
The sentiment on the insert is also from Just Rite and is stamped in coffee ink.
A beautiful way to send your condolences.

Organizing Scrap Leftovers

Hello again, good to see you,

Do you have a pile / folder/ drawer (whatever your filing system may be) of leftover pieces of card and paper?  I saw a fantastic idea (somewhere in the Pinterest world - thank-you if it was your idea originally!!) of how to organize your leftover pieces in the best way so that you are likely to actually use them (instead of just collecting them... hehe!).

I have always cut my leftover card to card size, and I have these stored in a plastic storage container so that I can just grab a card as I need, I keep the scraps (smaller than card size) in a set of drawers.

I was having issues with my paper.... I have always kept the leftovers in drawers and they had gotten so full - I was ruining them every time I added (Note added and not used!!!) some paper to the drawer - So now, I have cut the paper to card front size as well!!  Clever huh - I know, I know - it's not rocket science really....

This is how it looks so far...

If my leftover pieces were big enough I cut some of them into 6x6 squares, the others I cut to regular card size. Not sure how well you can see, I organize my products generally by colour, always in this order - blacks, browns, neutrals, greys and whites, then blues, then greens, then reds, then pink and purples and lastly oranges and yellows. I think I will also add colour dividers in the baskets to make it even easier to use the pieces (sorry - card fronts).

Now, aren't you proud of me? - I used some of my card fronts straight away...  I even used more of my collection of pre-made purchased flowers...

Exciting - now my leftover drawers are neat, tidy and not over-flowing and I have a great selection of card fronts ready to go!!

How do you organize your lefovers?? Do you store your products by colour?

See you soon

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Aviary-Note cards & folder

Aviary-Note cards & folder
Hello
I had a request for some ideas using this stamp set. Apart from the obvious nursery designs,  I thought it would be great for note cards.
For the folder I used smoky slate card. The birdcages are stamped in slate ink, with the stand in soft suede. The fronds are from Papaya collage stamped in old olive. The folder was cut 21 x 20 cm. scored at 10.2 & 10.7 on the longer side, and 6 & 6.5 on the other side. Holes were punched and eyelets set for the ribbon closure. The folder was then folded up and the sections secured on the edges with dimensionals.
I inserted 4 note cards & envelopes.
The cards were stamped with various images from Aviary, Thoughts & prayers and Papaya collage stamp sets. The hello, is part of a sentiment from Six sided sampler set.
Colours used are Olive, Slate, suede and Crushed curry with the birds in plum and curry, coloured with markers. Olive ink was dabbed over the leafy images using a sponge.
I hope you also find some inspiration from this.
Thank you for visiting.
Until next time- Keep happy crafting

Covered Floral Notebooks

Good Morning, How are you? It is starting to get a bit cooler here in Sunny North Queensland - must mention it has also been raining here!

Japan has these fantastic shops where everything  (nearly everything) costs 100 yen (which is roughly $1 AUD!!).  Love these shops - anyway that is where I purchased some floral notebooks and my post today is about the covers I have made for these notebooks.

I cut cardstock in various colours to size, then embossed the front of the covers with a selection of embossing folders.  On a couple of the covers I rubbed metallic rub-ons to emphasize the embossing. I am in a crafty zone at the moment where I am trying to use up flowers, ribbons and other embellishments that I know I have had in my stash for a while (I really am trying to be good!!!) (Really!!) So the flowers I have used on all of the covers are all pre-made, some are paper ones which I have spritzed and joined different sizes with a brad and the others are glittered chipboard flowers.  Leaves, ribbons and rhinestones complete the covers.

Inside one of the notebook covers - the floral notebooks are beautiful aren't they?

Looking for a quick and easy gift for a friend - Cover a notebook!
Happy Crafting!

Stampin' Up Bug Me - Birthday Card

Good Morning,

Today I have a (I think it is called a Tri-fold) card to show you.  I was asked to create a card for my friend's Four year old Grandson and this is what I came up with.....

Fantastic isn't it!!

I love the way these cards can stand on their own - so you can use them for a display!

I used for my main feature a Bug theme - Stampin' Up's Bug Me stamp set worked perfectly!
On each panel, I stuck with '4' images - beetles, bugs, birds, candles etc.
I used a selection of papers from my stash.

These lady beetles are just gorgeous!

Have a great day!

Butterfly Mini Album

Good Afternoon,  Friday again yay! No I am not wishing my life away - I just love the weekends!

Butterflies are beautiful creatures - so I guess adding a butterfly to your project always adds an element of beauty!  I purchased a card making kit featuring butterflies from a Craft Show and created a beautiful Mini with the products included in the kit.

The Kit was a TJ Designs Butterflies Card Kit by TweetyJill which I purchased from Fat Cats Card Corner.  The Kit included cardstock, embellishments, photocorners, assorted ephemera papers and elements for collage, charms etc etc.  Instructions were included to make 8 cards - the last instruction, No 11 actually reads and I quote "Ignore these instructions and create custom collage cards with the provided components!"

So yes, I ignored them and created a mini instead!

The front cover features some of the charms and metal corner embellishments - I added the large blue butterfly.

Every single page has at least one butterfly feature.

The back cover also includes a butterfly charm.

Ribbon in co-ordinating colours added to the binder rings to complete the project.

Hope you have lots of crafty plans for the weekend!

Pre-printed Card Fronts

Hello again,

I have just realised I had a few more pre-printed cards which I have not shown you yet...

I am using some of my pre-made stash of goodies as well as the pre-printed cards - the above card has a glittered tag, glittered flowers and lots of rhinestones.

More glittered foam flowers, brad centres and a rhinestone for the butterfly.

A beautiful pink and black paper butterfly with rhinestone detail.

Paper dragonflies.

A paper embellishment, I also added detail to the card front by using a Versamark pen and clear embossing powder.

Hi

Hope you have been enjoying your crafting sessions!  Here are the continuing simple cards I mentioned in a previous post using pre-printed card fronts... also using pre-made purchased flowers etc

Here I have used wooden flowers with a brad centre and black rhinestones to highlight the pre-printed detail on the card front.

Paper flowers of various sizes with brad and rhinestone centres.

Tiny flowers with rhinestone centres.

Once again - simple but effective.

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Flower garden emboss

Flower garden emboss

Hi there
Today I am sharing with you a card featuring the Flower garden embossing folder.

The colours used are olive, rose and white.
The raised design of the embossing folder was inked with rose ink and then embossed onto rose card. This was then matted onto white card and patterned paper, with all edges distressed and inked.
A strip of white card was then embossed in the folder and the debossed design was swiped over with ink. Holes were then punched in the top left of this piece, and ribbon knotted through. This piece was taped to the left of the card front and the embossed, matted panel layered on top using dimensionals.
The "for you" sentiment was then stamped and rhinestones added for the finishing touch.
A little inspiration to dig out those embossing folders.

Kaisercraft-Sweet Nothings

Hello
Todays card is romantic style and features the beautiful Sweet Nothings papers by Kaisercraft.

The card is a square gatefold card using Natural Ivory card from Stampin'up.
I have used papers from the 6 1/2" Sweet nothings pad, and added the coordinating Kaisercraft Collectable to the inside of the card.
Sheer organza ribbon to close the card was fixed to the front gates beneath  the papers
The sentiment stamps are by JustRite. The Follow your Heart is stamped on Stampin'up white card, with versamark and gold embossed, then die cut with a Spellbinders oval. It was stamped a second time in violet ink and die cut with a scalloped oval and matted behind the first. These were added to the front of the card with dimensionals.
Three Kaisercraft mini blooms, with the stems of two of them wound into spirals, were then added, and liquid pearls around the blooms and in the top left corner finished off the design.
I hope you find this card as lovely as I do.
Till next time

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-By the tide/Seashore-One layer card

By the tide/Seashore-One layer card
Hi
A simple but cheery card today- feel better soon

On to white card and using indigo ink, centrally stamp the rhyme from By the tide.
Using Soft sky, saffron, brown sugar, coral and blushing bride inks, randomly stamp the shells from by the tide & by the seashore stamp sets. Lightly sponge the edges of the card front using turquoise ink.
On the bottom right corner using versamark ink, stamp the sentiment from Express yourself and emboss with turquoise powder.
To finish off the card I applied two coats of crystal effects to three of the shells in the top left corner.
Would you not feel better after receiving a card like this?
Keep happy crafting

The insert is stamped in slate ink using Morning Meadow, and Happiest Birthday Stamp sets.
A velvet hydrangea flower (Petaloo), a glimmer brad, and rhinestones finish off the card.
