Sympathy Cards

Hello

Here are a couple of ideas for cards for the sad times.

The first card is a ivory base, layered with a patterned paper. The bird section of paper was cut, layered to additional ivory card then mounted over the base paper. The sentiment (from Kaszazz) was stamped and pearls added down the left.
For the second card a background was stamped with Stampscapes stamps, the willow tree was then stamped. Shading was added with watercolour pencils. This panel was layered on to additional white card, then on to a white card base. A label was stamped and added and pearls applied.
The third card is Darkroom Door Gumtree and sentiment stamped in coloured ink on to white card. The shading is done with dye inks. This was added to a panel of ribbon wrapped white pearl card, then to a white card base. Pearls were added to corners.

Trees, nature images and peaceful scenes are suitable for these sad times.

Pond Cards

Hello

When I saw these frog dies from Marianne design, I had to have them. These are the first lot of cards created with them.

The background papers are a sheet of designs, also from Marianne.
The embossing folder used here is from Darice.

I am fortunate to also have several other dies, from Marianne, IO, and various other brands also along this theme.

All card bases are white. The frogs have all been coated with glossy accents. Highlights have been added with Wink of Stella glitter pens and stickles glitter glue. Rhinestones complete the designs.

These scenes look so peaceful.

Earrings in Origami...

Hello,

There is something about Origami (paper folding) that is so fascinating, the sculpting and folding of the paper to create some really intricate designs. Not to mention the beautiful origami papers that are available to create these designs with!

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to homestay Japanese students who seem to always present you with amazing gifts... origami paper included.  One of the packs of origami included instructions to create these gorgeous little bowls.  There is 4 colours - yellow, green, blue and pink and as origami paper is double sided, I was able to create 8 different bowls by inverting the paper.

Most of the origami instructions included in the packs of paper are in Japanese, but I haven't found this to be a problem as the illustrations are generally easy to follow.  I packaged in each of the bowls, a pair of earrings and this makes a fabulous small gift!

If you have not had the opportunity to read the book "Sadako and the thousand paper cranes" about the Japanese girl, who was two years old when an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, please do as this book has been a heartwarming inspiration to many origami lovers.

I am having a crafty day with some beautiful friends,
hope you have a crafty one planned also!

Bamboo Tile Necklaces...

Hello,

I created these Necklaces using bamboo tiles which I purchased from Beads Online an Australian online store.  First, I selected origami papers in a range of patterns and colours, cut the papers to size to fit on the front side only. Adhered these to the front (the tiles were already black) and then coated the tile in mod podge.

Next, I added the bead fixings through the centre of the tile to create a pendant, choosing the beading to co-ordinate with the papers. Then added a black necklace to each.

The origami papers with the gold features running through them are my favourite!

Off to the markets today, hope you have some crafty plans!

Kaisercraft Dressform...

Good morning,

2018 is here! We are already a week into the New Year!  Today's project is an Off the Page project - a Kaisercraft Dressform...

Fisrt, I painted the sides and edges of the dressform with black acrylic paint, allowed to dry, then traced around the edges of the dressform onto papers from my stash. I chose two different papers (in co-ordinating colours) so you have the option of choosing which side you wish to display. Next I cut these out and faux stitched with black pen around the edges of both 'fronts'. I then adhered these to the dressform.

To finish off, I added embellishments to both sides, the butterflies are stamped and punched using Stampin' Up Papillon Potpourri. Other embellishments used: pearls, rhinestones, twine, brads and a leaf vine ribbon.

Thanks for visiting.
See you again soon,
