Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Frosty Zoo Review

Frosty Zoo Review

Shades of blue and white.
Stamp the polar bear and penguin onto pieces of white card, using grey ink, and sponge around the images with baja ink. Distress the edges of the bear piece.
Make the card base from Soft sky and sponge baja breeze ink over the front. Attach a strip of blue vellum to the left side.
On a smaller piece of textured card die cut an oval aperture in the upper left, then emboss in a dotted folder.
Tape the penguin image behind the aperture. Stamp a sentiment onto a narrow strip of card, cut the end to a point and attach, tucking the end behind the embossed panel and a brad to the point.
Place a strip of seam binding across the centre of the card, looping the left end.
Mat the bear image to a piece of embossed blue vellum, add a brad to the corner and attach to the panel with dimensionals. Tape the embossed assembled panel to the card front. Add rhinestones to the animal's eyes.
To add the frosty finish, apply Frosted lace stickles around the base of the bear and the penguin feet, and to some of the dotty bubbles.
This stamp set is about to retire, so if you don't have it now is the time to purchase.
Till next time, be happy crafting

On to white card the trellis is stamped in Crumb Cake ink, then the leaves in olive ink, stamped twice. The little flower wheels are stamped in Raspberry Ripple ink. Using versamark ink, stamp the sentiment from Sassy Salutations and emboss in Espresso powder. The edges of this panel are then distressed and the panel attached to the card front, using dimensionals.
A corner was punched (using photo corner punch) and attached to the top right corner with glue dots.

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Lattice Petite Petals

Lattice Petite Petals

For this card I have used white, crisp cantaloupe and pistachio card.
Emboss a panel (slightly smaller then the card front) in the decorative dots embossing folder, distress the edges, then attach to the card front.
In the centre of a piece of white card die cut the lattice then remove the shape. Tape a piece of Venetian Romance dsp to the back of the aperture then run through the decorative dots embossing folder. Distress the edges and attach a strip of ruffled cantaloupe ribbon to the bottom of this panel, then add a silver mini brad to each corner. Tape this piece to the top section of the card, then using glue dots fix the lattice die cut back into place. Add a rhinestone to the centre.
Using Perfectly penned stamp set and cantaloupe ink stamp the sentiment onto white card, cut into a rectangle and distress the edges.
Using petite petals punch, punch eight flowers from venetian romance paper, shape, and join in pairs with mini silver brads, to make four flowers.
Using little leaves sizzlet die and pistachio card cut two sets of leaves. Trim two leaves from one of the cuts. With a pistachio marker draw veins on the leaves. Add these two leaves and one flower to the end of the sentiment section then fix to lower card front.
Add the remaining leaves and flowers to the lattice section and two rhinestones  to the bottom corner of the sentiment.

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Zoo Review - Masculine birthday

Zoo Review - Masculine birthday
The card base is burgundy.
Using black stazon ink, stamp the zebra onto white card and also onto a post-it note. Cut out the post-it image slightly inside the lines and place over the card image as a mask. Stamp the giraffe over this (I used stazon saddle brown ink), then remove the mask. Fill in the lower section of the panel with a grass image (mine is a Stampscapes design). LIghtly sponge the background areas with olive and soft sky inks, then roughly distress the edges and run a burgundy marker around them.
Stamp and emboss a birthday sentiment onto sahara sand paper then distress and ink the edges.
Tape the stamped panel to this, add brads to the corners, wrap a black ribbon across then fix the whole panel to the card front.
Stamp the lion (I used stazon rusty brown & saddle brown inks) onto a piece of white card, dab on colour as before, distress and ink the edges then attach to the card using dimensionals. Add a small coloured pearl to the top left corner.

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Lovely as a Tree- masculine birthday card

Lovely as a Tree- masculine birthday card

Hi Everyone
This side opening card has a base of river rock. A panel of soft suede card was embossed in a branches folder, wrapped twice with linen thread and knotted through a button. Brads were added to three corners and the whole panel attached to the base.
Lovely as a tree was inked at the bottom of the image with soft suede ink, and the tree tops with olive ink and stamped onto vanilla card. This was then die cut into an oval and dabbed with olive and soft sky inks for a hint of colour. A larger oval was die cut from artichoke card, embossed in branches and matted behind. This whole piece was attached to the card front with dimensionals.
Happy birthday was stamped in olive onto vanilla card, the ends shaped and then attached with dimensionals.

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Aviary-Note cards & folder

Aviary-Note cards & folder
Hello
I had a request for some ideas using this stamp set. Apart from the obvious nursery designs,  I thought it would be great for note cards.
For the folder I used smoky slate card. The birdcages are stamped in slate ink, with the stand in soft suede. The fronds are from Papaya collage stamped in old olive. The folder was cut 21 x 20 cm. scored at 10.2 & 10.7 on the longer side, and 6 & 6.5 on the other side. Holes were punched and eyelets set for the ribbon closure. The folder was then folded up and the sections secured on the edges with dimensionals.
I inserted 4 note cards & envelopes.
The cards were stamped with various images from Aviary, Thoughts & prayers and Papaya collage stamp sets. The hello, is part of a sentiment from Six sided sampler set.
Colours used are Olive, Slate, suede and Crushed curry with the birds in plum and curry, coloured with markers. Olive ink was dabbed over the leafy images using a sponge.
I hope you also find some inspiration from this.
Thank you for visiting.
Until next time- Keep happy crafting

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Flower garden emboss

Flower garden emboss

Hi there
Today I am sharing with you a card featuring the Flower garden embossing folder.

The colours used are olive, rose and white.
The raised design of the embossing folder was inked with rose ink and then embossed onto rose card. This was then matted onto white card and patterned paper, with all edges distressed and inked.
A strip of white card was then embossed in the folder and the debossed design was swiped over with ink. Holes were then punched in the top left of this piece, and ribbon knotted through. This piece was taped to the left of the card front and the embossed, matted panel layered on top using dimensionals.
The "for you" sentiment was then stamped and rhinestones added for the finishing touch.
A little inspiration to dig out those embossing folders.

On the bottom right corner using versamark ink, stamp the sentiment from Express yourself and emboss with turquoise powder.

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Fashion-Etcetera DSP

Fashion-Etcetera DSP
Hello again
I was going through my paper drawer the other day, and realised I haven't yet shared anything using this paper pack.
The card base is natural ivory. The first paper layer is the pattern sheet and the next is the corset. I have cut 4 strips from the tape measure sheet, snipped the ends and stapled them together at different lengths, then taped to the top right corner.
Two adv. panels were cut and fixed to the card using tape and dimensionals. Tiny clips were attached  to these.
The sentiment is by Whimsy stamps and is embossed with Aged aqua enamel. Two pearls are added to the top left corner.

As you may have realised by now, I always add an insert as I feel it gives a much more professional finish.
This one is from Happy day stamp set and is in crumb cake ink.

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Celebrate Today-Wedding card

Celebrate Today-Wedding card
Good Morning
A rather special wedding card today
It is a square card in whisper white. I have cut a square aperture in the centre and then embossed the front in the dots folder, and rounded the top right corner.
I then diecut a lacey square (Spellinders) and cut it into a frame using the same sized die as the aperture. This frame was then embossed in the dots folder and sprayed with perfect pearl mist. A square of the printed acetate from Quatrefancy paper pack was then taped to the back of the frame and it was then attached with dimensionals to the front of the card.
Inside the card. A smaller card was made to open from the left and to fit behind the aperture. A lacey square was cut from Watercolour wonder paper, stamped with a sentiment from Perfectly penned and embossed in pewter powder. The edges of the square were paper pricked.
An insert was made for this card using stamps from Loving thoughts, warmth & wonder and mosiac madness, using smokey slate ink.
This small card was then taped centrally to the card, behind the aperture.
The card was then finished with 3 small paper roses tied with satin ribbon, and 3 small pearls either side
of this mini bouquet.
A special card for a special couple.
I hope you like it.

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Scalloped tag punch

Scalloped tag punch
Hello
I was playing around with this new punch the other day and came up with this idea
The card is gatefold style, and the colours are coral, pear and white.
The closure is card punched both ends with scalloped tag punch, embossed in dots folder and then cut in two. The longer piece was scored and taped to the right side of the folded card base. The other section is taped to the left side  at the same level. The front and all the inside panels were then covered in patterned paper. An older design from my stash.
The butterfly is stamped and die cut using Backyard basics. The butterfly was done twice, once in coral and then in white, and layered together, then attached.

Wildflower meadow was stamped in coral, die cut into an oval and then matted on to a die cut pear scalloped oval. This was then attached to the centre panel.
The tag is tied with a bow to close the card.
The flowers were outlined with a stardust pen, tiny paper daisies attached to the larger flower centre, and small rhinestones to the smaller flowers and the butterfly body.
With the remaining small amount of card and paper I made this tag.
The back of the tag has a stamped sentiment.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit. Please drop by again.
Till next time- Keep happy crafting

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-By the Seashore-Feel Better

By the Seashore-Feel Better
Hello
This card was created for our latest masking technique class

On to a white card base I first stamped the sand dollar image, using baked brown sugar ink, and also stamped on to a post it note. I cut out the second image just inside the line and placed it over the card image. I then did the same with the starfish image using coastal cabana ink, again cutting out and placing the second image over the card image. The coral from By the tide set was stamped in calypso coral ink over both the masked images. The masks were removed and the base around the images was coloured with watercolour pencil and carefully blended with an aquabrush, avoiding the stamping.
A strip of High tide paper is added down the left of the card along with a couple of candy dots.
The sentiment, from Sassy salutations, is stamped in brown sugar ink.

The card insert. The sentiment is from Express yourself set.
Thanks for visiting

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-High Tide paper

High Tide paper
Hello
I recently bought the High tide paper. I did not realise  just how great it was.
The ship in the bottle was crying out to be a feature, so we have this Happy Birthday card.

The front of the white card base is embossed in the dots folder, the top right corner rounded and the edges lightly sponged with Indigo ink.
A piece of the waves paper was cut to fit the card front, cut in half diagonally, the edges distressed and sponged, and then added to the left side of the card; leaving the central section free.
A bottle was taped to card then cut out and tucked behind the paper using glue dots at the base and a dimensional at the top.
An itty bitty birthday banner was stamped in indigo and die cut, and matted with a marino mist banner. Linen thread was tied in a loop through the banner, around the paper and attached with dimensionals.
A clear stardust pen was used to highlight the bottle, the fish in the waves, and the banner.
Candy dots finish the design.

The Open sea and Wishes your way stamp sets were used for the insert.
This paper pack has loads of inspirational designs.
Be happy crafting

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Another Memorable moment

Another Memorable moment
Hi there
Another memorable moment to share

This card is in shimmery white and razzleberry.
The happy birthday sentiment was first stamped to the card front. A panel of white card was embossed in a spot folder and taped centrally to the front. Lace and razzleberry ribbon were taped across.
Using the labels die I cut a large label in silver glittered white tissue paper, a smaller label in razzleberry, which I then embossed in the spot folder, and a still smaller label which had been stamped with razzleberry.
These labels were layered together using mini silver brads, and then attached to the card with dimensionals.
A memorable card for a memorable day.

The front of the card base is embossed in vintage wallpaper folder, and the top right corner rounded. A strip of blushing bride paper is stamped with the word inspire (loving thoughts), heat embossed with silver powder, then taped to the lower section of the card front.

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Petals a plenty

Petals a plenty
Hello

A happy card today.
This card is black and tangerine. I have used colour core coordinations card, embossed in petal folder and sanded lightly back. I have rounded all corners.
The embossed panel is matted to tangerine card, and has tangerine ribbon wrapped across and knotted. This panel is then taped to the black card base.
Two flowers are die cut in foam using Blossom party die and layered together, and two leaves again in foam are die cut using Autumn accents die. These are then all fixed to the card front and a sparklet added to the flower centre.
The happy day sentiment(from Bloomin marvellous set) is stamped in tangerine onto white card  then punched with the oval punch. A tangerine scalloped oval punchout is matted behind. This is then fixed to the card front with dimensionals.
Quick and easy, but bright and effective.
