My Mind's Eye - Sleigh Bells Ring - Branches Christmas Card - Owl

Hello,

I am sure you all know...  I have an obsession with owls... so as soon as I saw these Branches from My Mind's Eye - Sleigh Bells Ring paper range - I knew I needed to have an owl sitting in them!

I die-cut a Spellbinder's Holiday Winter owl, gave him a green scarf and created a snowflake with Whiff of Joy Snowflake Trio die for the bottom right corner of the card.  Before adding the snowflake to the card, I embossed it with Ranger's Embossing Tinsel - Bridal.  The "Merry Christmas" is a Dusty Attic Chipboard which I have coloured with gel pens and then coated in glossy accents.

How cute is this owl? It looks like the paper was made just for him!!

Only a couple more Christmas creations to share with you...

Steampunk Canvas...

Sprockets, cogs, owls, gears.... All things Steampunk - gotta love them!!!

Hi, today I am sharing with you one of my most favourite projects that I have ever created! A Steampunk reverse canvas. (Reverse canvas meaning you turn the canvas around and create your project in/on the back of the canvas).

Now, please excuse the photos - with all the shinyness of the bling and silver card - it was really hard to take great photos!

The canvas I used is a 15cm x 15xm (6x6) canvas, which I covered with Stampin' Up paper. I then ran some silver foil cardstock through my cuttlebug using Tim Holtz Alterations Steampunk Texture Fade Embossing folder.  This is the background of the canvas - before I adhered this into the back I randomly swiped Black Stazon Ink all over it to give a weathered look.

Next, I set to work cutting cogs, sprockets, leaves, birdhouses, a fence, grass, a butterfly and two owls. (I will list at the bottom the dies etc I have used).

I used various cardstock and papers to create my canvas - black cardstock and metallic papers, shiny silvers and brushed silver cardstock.

Can you see the fairy charm and the cog charm?

Now for a list of the products....

Canvas 15cm x 15 cm
Stampin Up Paper to cover the canvas and for birdhouses
Black Card for sprockets
Black metallic paper for grass along bottom of canvas front
Silver Foil card for background and owls
Stampin Up Brushed silver cardstock for fence, leaves, cogs and butterfly

Tim Holtz Alterations Garden Greens Bigz Die
Tim Holtz Alterations Gadget Gears Bigz Die
Taylored Expressions Die - Sprockets Border
Cheery Lyn Designs Die - Owls with Gears
Cheery Lyn Designs Die - Gears Butterfly
Impression Obsession Die - Birdhouses
Impression Obsession Die - Grass
Impression Obsession Die - Fence
Fairy Charm
Cog Charm
Assorted rhinestones and bling
Coil and reed embellishments
Stampin Up Brads in sprocket centres
American Crafts Zing Glitter Black emboss powder for detail on cogs

Phew, I think that is all!  If there is anything I have forgotten - please let me know!!

Fancy Pants - "Baby" Mini Albums

Good Morning,

Something different to show you - I have created some Mini Albums for a couple of friends who are having babies.  I created these two albums using papers from the Fancy Pants ranges from the clearance section at Wild About Scrap.  There is a great range of products on clearance - papers, embellishments etc - take the time to look I am sure you will find something at a bargain price. Ooh, I sound like an advertisement....  (It's also their Birthday this month - so you can get 20% off all their full priced products until 30 April 2014!!)

Anyway, back to the albums, I know how busy it can get with brand new babies (My Dad asks how can you get a brand new baby - is there such a thing as an old baby??? hehe!!)  so I created these to be -  busy Mum user friendly - all they need to do is add a photo and a spot of journalling.

The pages on the inside are the same - the covers differ slightly.

For both albums I used a concertina style binding.

Each page has a tag pocket, an owl stamped in the right hand corner from Stampin Up's Aviary, and the word Love stamped in the bottom left corner.

I stamped a journalling box on one side of the tag, and on the other a frame so Mum can add a word or another photo if she wishes.

Here is an example of one of the inside pages - if you wish to see all the pages, more instructional details and a list of the products I have used - please visit Wild About Scrap's Blog.

Hope to see you again soon,

Kaisercraft Owl - Birthday Card

Hope you are having a great day!

This is the last of the Owl Birthday Cards I created the other day...  She is a Kaisercraft Stamp...

I used a bright pink square card - which is why I chose the Lime green background paper from my stash. The Happy Birthday wording is from Stampin Up's Happiest Birthday Wishes set.  I black embossed the owl  onto pink cardstock and then stamped another image which I cut the heart from.  I added a touch of sparkle to the Owl and her heart by using my Stardust Pens.  I circle punched 3 circles from some of the leftover background paper and raised these with mounting tape for added dimension. I added a double row of ribbon and some rhinestones to the centres of all the flowers on my card.

I think Lime Green and Pink work so well together,

Kelly Panacci - Twit Twoo - Owl Birthday Card

Hello

Barn Owls, Great Grey Owls, Horned Owl, Spotty Owls - they are all sooo beautiful!  I am not sure which category this cute little owl belongs to!

She is from Kelly Panacci's Clear Set - Twit Twoo - which is a great stamp set!  I black embossed the little owl and coloured her with Twinkling H2Os - Garnet and Almond Beige.  The background paper is one I created using paint and a plastic scraper for a textured effect.   The frame is a die from Mpress set of  Dies called Floral Brackets.  I embossed this using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Happy Birthday is from Stampin Ups Express Yourself set.  I used raspberry ribbon and some Kaisercraft flower rhinestones to complete my card.

Very girly, isn't she?

Victoria's Secret - Owl Birthday Card

Happy Birthday from you know Whoooo!!  Hello, Owl Card Lovers...

Isn't that just the best wording for an Owl Birthday Card!!  I have another Owl Birthday Card to show you. This is a Victoria's Secret Stamp called Large Black Owl...

Fantastic stamp - I am sure there are many, many ways you could use this one - can't you just see glitter all through those fabulous swirls!! Sorry - sidetracked.....  I embossed the owl using Judikins Pastilles Embossing Powder - this stuff is amazing - all the different colours flecked through it - wow.... Background paper and ribbon from my stash.  I faux stitched the edges with a black marker.  Happy Birthday - Stampin Up's Teeny Tiny Sentiments and I used an orange card base. I also added Black Brads in the corners and black rhinestones for the Owl's eyes.

Card is lined on the inside and stamped with the top part of the same owl.  Happy Birthday from Stampin Up's Grunge Rock Set.

Back with more soon,

Stampin Up Forest Friends, Aviary - Owl Birthday Card

Hello Forest Friends,  How sweet is that?

The Stampin Up Forest Friends stamp set is really cute - in the set there is a gorgeous little deer, a rabbit and a little tree - as well as the Owl that I have used in this Birthday Card...

The Forest Friends Owl is the black Owl on the Top Left.  The Orange Owl at the Bottom Right is from
Stampin Up's Stamp Set - Aviary, she is sitting on a tree stump which is a Art Stamps Stamp. Too Cute!!
I black embossed the Owl, Tree Stump and the wording (Stampin Up Grunge Rock Set).  I Orange embossed the other little Owl and have attached her to the card using mounting tape.  Ribbon from Stampin Up, background paper from my stash and rhinestones are the other products I have used to create this card.

The orange card base is a gate-fold and here is a photo of the inside lining.  The inside wording is from Stampin Up's - Happiest Birthday Wishes.

Hope you are enjoying my Owl-themed Birthday Cards!

Hampton Art Owl Stamp Birthday Card

Hoot, Hoot

Hello, another Happy Birthday Owl card for you - this card is made with a Hampton Art Set - I have used one of the owls and a branch from the same set.  I coloured the stamp with markers and when I stamped it on my white cardstock, I was not happy with the blotchy result, so I then coloured over the top of the image with the same markers.  (The stamp set is a clear cling set - and I have a few of this style stamp, which for some reason don't always seem to stamp out as clear and as crisp as I would like - even after doing the soapy water thing....anyhow, I just work around that.... )

I used a glossy purple square card, a piece of white cardstock, which I embossed with a dotty embossing folder.  The background paper is a painted background which I dragged a plastic scraper through the paint to create a particular finish.  I added a piece of white ribbon across the middle to disguise the join in the card and background paper.  The wording is from a Stampin Up Set - Express Yourself, punched out with a Stampin Up Punch.  I added rhinestones to the corners of the cards and to the owl eyes.  I then used a stardust/gelly roll glitter pen to outline the owl and her branch etc - bit hard to see in the photo though.   When I attached the owl to the card, i taped the main part of the branch flat and used dimensional tape under the owl and some of the leaves for added dimension.

Isn't she cute?

Hi Steampunk Lovers

When I chose this next owl stamp to work with, I had all these plans in my mind on how I was going to make my card....   I planned to layer this, colour that, highlight this etc etc etc, but as soon as I stamped the image I totally changed my mind - wow kapow, I stamped it and then decided I did not need to do anything else!!

This is a Stampendous Stamp called - Steampunk Owl.  I used a glossy black card base, wording from Stampin Up set Grunge Rock and Black Rhinestones.

Did I tell you I Love Steampunk?

Stampin Up Owl Punch and Punch Bunch

Good Morning,

Sad to say, school holidays are over, which means back into the school routine - my Husband says the tears in the morning are from me and not from the prep children starting school for the first time!!!

I was looking at our own Pinterest boards (which I guess we all do on a very regular basis) and realized - my Owl Board is sadly lacking in pins - considering I love owls (which I am sure you all know) I have an owly need now to create, create, create all things owly ... well maybe not all things!?!

Here is a Birthday card I made this morning using Stampin Up's Owl  Punch, the owl image is from Stampin Up's Punch Bunch stamp set, Happy Birthday from Stampin Up's Postage Collection and punched out with their Petite Curly Label Punch.

The beautiful paper is some from my stash (not sure which brand sorry), the orange flowers and leaves on the paper are flocked - so my card has the 'touchy, feely' element as well! Ribbon from Stampin Up and Rhinestones to finish the bling.

We always line our cards to give them a professional finish.  I used Distress Ink - Ripe Persimmon for all my stamping.

Whoo Hoo, off to make more Owly Creations,

Shadow Box - using Spellbinders Rose Creations Die...

Hello - it has just started to rain as I am typing this and the smell of the rain is so refreshing!!

I made this Box - (I was unsure exactly what to call it so I went with Shadow box - please let me know if I should have called it something different!!) for a beautiful friend of mine for her Birthday - she loved it of course as I'm sure you will.....

Looks great doesn't it?!?   I found this fantastic box at a cheap warehouse shop - they only had two and I had never seen them before and have not seen them since - so I think it was one of those lucky finds!!  It is a very unusual box in that it has a double layer of Perspex - which is a glass-like material - which is magnetised together in the corners and then magnetised to the top of the box.

This is the base of the box - I created it all outside the box and then put it together.  Now, where do I start.....  The flowers are die cut using Spellbinders Rose Creations die - a few different sizes for each flower, held together with brads and then glittered with KindyGlitz and glitter.  The Birdcage is die cut using Prickley Pears Birdcage Die and glossy black card.  The Owl is a chipboard owl which I painted and glittered and I have used black rhinestones for his eyes.  The leaves for the roses are die cut using Stampin' Up's Sizzlit - Little leaves, run through an embossing folder for detail and then rubbed over with metallic gold.  A few close ups ......

The "friends forever" is a Darkroom Door stamp from their All Occasions set.  I black embossed it to make it shine like the birdcage.  I have also used ribbon, a dragonfly brad, a heart brad, lots of bling - rhinestones and pearls....  Oh - I forgot to mention the paper I used was a patterned paper with a beautiful rose in the bottom corner where I have placed the birdcage etc.

Here is the top...  had you already noticed in the views without the box that there was no butterflies?? You are very observant!!   The butterflies are sandwiched between the two layers of Perspex - very unusual!!!  I used Stampin' Up's Embosslits - Beautiful Wings to cut the butterflies and stuck them in place using glue dots - I had to be careful firstly of where I placed the butterflies so that they sat nicely over the top of the rest of my project and secondly I had to be careful to not make it too thick for the magnets on the two layers to work properly!! Phew ....

This is just another finished view where you can see the depth of the box a bit better... See the placement of the butterflies.....

I think I covered everything - and as you can imagine I loved creating this!! I would love to hear any comments of what you think of this .....

 Have a great evening,

Stampin' Up Aviary, Punch Bunch, Owl Together Now, Confetti

Good afternoon,

Owl addicts - have a look at this really cute project I have created....  Owly Bookmarks!!

My Teacher always gives the children in our class books as their End of year / Christmas gift - so I have been making a bookmark each to go with their books - great idea isn't it??  A personalised owl bookmark - what more could you want??

For the Girls I used pink, purple and black.  I have used blue, red and black for the Boys.

The large black owl in the bottom corner is from Stampin' Up's - Punch Bunch.  Flying owl and side peek-a-boo owl are from and old Stampin' Up Set - Owl Together Now and the little owl is from Stampin' Up Set - Aviary.  The itty-bitty alphabet is from Stampin' Up's Set - Confetti.  (Last year I used the little leaves from Confetti but this time I thought I would use the alphabet instead!).  The Children's names are stamped using a PaperCraft set named Italic Alphabet.

I stamped a "handmade by" stamp on the back, then laminated, rounded corners and added ribbons to finish them off.

A very practical present - don't you think?

I Love Owls

Hoot morning... hehe ... I mean Good morning!  I have not told you yet -  I am also an Owl addict! Owl pillows, owl bags, ornaments, pictures, did I mention jewellery...  and just a few other things!
As part of my Christmas Gift from Barb, I received some Owl Sticky Notes - I had them sitting on my craft table for a while until - I saw in a stationery shop one day - a folder with co-ordinating post-it notes in - what a brilliant idea - so I went home found the perfect thick paper and this is what I created...

The Owl sticker on the front was clear so I matted it to make it stand out more.  I used a strip of green owl ribbon - which was actually part of a Christmas ribbon range.  Double-sided taped the sticky notes in and aren't they beautiful!

Have a Hooty Day!
