You Really Are Sew Special!!

Good Morning,

Oh No!  I have just realised I have another addiction - (not that there is a problem with that!) - creating mini canvases.....  I have pinned many of them onto my Pinterest Inspiration board - have a look and you will see what I mean by addiction!!  Following is the Mini Canvas I created for my beautiful Mother BaRb .....

As you can see - I am in love with all the dressform / pattern / sewing themed dies, stamps and embellishments available !!

Sorry - crooked photo...  Acrylic painted easel.

This is the card I made to go with the Canvas.

As I was so happy with the result - I also created a blue Canvas and card.  Love It?!?

May your Bobbin Always be Full!!

My Dark Angels

Hello,

As you know, one of my favourite colours is Black.....  So when I created a whole pile of these beautiful Beaded Angels (in various colours) as gifts for friends and family, I just had to make some for myself and  I called them my Dark Angels....

I am sure there are probably instructions on the internet somewhere to create these beautiful girls, but I had seen one made by someone else and just copied her.  Her skirt is made using 10 Safety pins, with wire threaded through - alternating the pin top with beads, then joined at the top with beading wire. Her body, arms, head, wings and halo are made using beading wire, rice beads for the arms with seed beads for the halo and wings.  I have tried different size pins and different size beads - so I ended up making many sizes.

Aren't they just beautiful???  My Dark Angels ....

StampinUp Clockworks, Grid, Gorgeous Grunge

Hello
I feel these three stamp sets were made for each other, so that is how I used them.
This first card uses Clockworks set, along with the Ticket wheel and Take a Ticket stamp.
Colours are natural white & ivory card, brushed silver and acetate for the clock and espresso, suede & navy inks and brads.
This second card uses the clockworks, grid and grunge sets, and bitty banners stamps and die. Same colours but with a splash of strawberry slush.
Same colours again, but added window frames and backyard basics dies and the pennant die from hearts a flutter. Crystal effects polish up the frame.

This easel card is much more intensive. I have added the dress form and heart framelits dies. Shop around wheel was also perfect for this design. The added colour is Crisp Cantalope. The backing card on the easel front is embossed as is the base at the front under the lace.

Inside view of the card. The cut out piece of the heart frame was used here.
Crackle paint was used on the frame. Pearl chokers, a boutique detail and some linen thread around the waist of the dress form, some lace and a pearl were the perfect finishing touches.
I hope you enjoy these designs and have found some inspiration here.

Mini Album...

Hello, how are you?  In June I went to a Craft Show and one of the goodies I purchased was a Mini Album Kit.  In this kit there was a envelope/pocket album, papers, stickers, chipboard diecuts and a set of page-by-page instructions - everything you need to make a complete album.  I was so excited I couldn't wait to make it!  I am sure that I am not the only one that does this - but I made it my own by changing a few things....  The first thing I did was to change the album - I used a black paged chipboard album which was actually larger than the one in the kit..... so I had to make my page designs a little bit larger than the kit's instructions.  There was enough goodies in the kit to make the whole album with some leftovers but as my album itself was bigger I ended up using everything.  I kept some of the pages similar to the instructions but I also changed a lot of things...  Here is the front cover and the first 5 pages....

I painted the edges of the cover black - to match the pages.  I think the only thing I added was some twine.

Now before you ask me what is the kit and where did I get it... I have to tell you - I enjoyed making the album so much that I contacted the Stallholders that I purchased the kit from only to find out that they only make kits like this one as a CraftShow Special.... Oh well..... Some of the paper ranges that are available have the whole selection of goodies - papers, stickers, chipboard diecuts etc so I have started making myself another album using co-ordinating things from my own stash!

Over the next couple of days I will post the next pages for your viewing pleasure....Enjoy! ...

Surprise Box 2

Hello there

A layered surprise box to look at today.

I have used Stampin'up papers, images, punches etc. in this one also.

I used photos of the plants in my garden in the box, as I used it as the example for a class project.

There are three layers to the box, with papers fixed on each side of the layers. The photos were printed with a white border for definition. A punched ribbon lace strip was attached each page either above or below the photos.

Pearls were added as feet to the bottom of the box and to the top of the lid.

A photo and a year label, which was covered in crystal effects were added to the lid, a sentiment stamped each side, and a rhinestone added to each side of the corners.

Filled with Family photos this box makes a wonderful gift.

I hope you enjoy this box and feel inspired to make one yourself.
Thank you for visiting and until next time

Journal Pages Continuing....

Hi Journal Page Lovers...   Here are the pages I have done so far in my next Journal....

With this Journal I have already painted all of the backgrounds, and I also had old packets of rub-ons that weren't the greatest examples of rub-ons so I randomly went through and used them up.....

This page is titled "I have a dream destiny with endless possibilities" and the rub-on says "Remember that something incredibly wonderful is always possible".  Stencilled black tree and magazine cut out of an owl.

On this page I collaged magazine cut outs of things I love.  Oriental, Asian images and stickers.

I drew the image, titles "Just be You", rub-ons say "Love what you do.  Do what you Love" - great motto!  smaller rub-ons around edges "hope, inspire, dream, imagine".  Washi tape and wooden flowers, other rub-ons and hand drawn vines.

Written message to my daughter, rub-ons say "Remember Lifes's Treasures are People not things" and "What lies behind us and what lies before us, are tiny matters compared to what lies within us".
Rubber stamped black clocks and gesso larger white clocks.

These flowers were punched from the brown paper I was using to protect my other pages when painting !! It's amazing what you can create with rubbish....

Bloom where you are planted!!
Thanks for viewing our blog!
