Canvas Handmade Swap...

Hello,

I am not sure if I have let you know - I am part of a Handmade Swap Group? Here are some photos of my last creation for the Group...

I created this 30x30 canvas using many dies - Cheery Lynn, Impression Obsession, Tim Holtz Alteration Dies, Spellbinder, Prickley Pear and also assorted punches...

My swap Partner's favourite colours are purple and green, so going with these colours, I started with choosing my paper first and then went from there - choosing dies I felt like playing with and ended up creating this beautiful canvas garden.

Rhinestones, brads, glossy accents, perfect pearls spritz...

A couple of close ups showing the detail...

Needless to say, my swap Partner loved her canvas!

What do you think of my purple and green garden?

Sizzzix Wheelbarrow and Flowers...

Good morning,

Have you ever seen (or owned) a die and had the thought 'Wow, I wonder what that would look like as a 3d project?'   I bought this fabulous die - Sizzix Bigz wheelbarrow and flowers - and knew I had to make a real wheelbarrow!

What do you think?? Isn't it just too cute??

I die cut two wheelbarrows and then created a small 'box' sized to fit in between the two wheelbarrows.

Inside the box I used the idea from 'card in a box' structures to make strips to hold the flowers.  Even though the die does die cut flowers, I used flowers from a Cre8tiv pack of embellishments.  The leaves on the flower stems are from the die, the leaves on the outside of the wheelbarrow are from a Stampin' Up bird punch. I have also used Stampin' Up card and paper for the wheelbarrow and rhinestones and pearls for the flower centres.

Next, I created a card to match...

Then, another card with a different colour scheme.

(The Friends card is available for purchase from our online store... 1 of: http://www.thehandcraftedshop.com/cards/more/card-friends-wheelbarrow?cPath=2_579_652&)

I think I will have to create more of these wheelbarrows!!
Have a great day!

Field Flowers, Silhouette Sentiments, Little Leaves - Mini Accordion Flip Album... My Thoughts are Happiest When you're in Them....

Hello,

Phew, longest heading ever!! When you buy a Stamp Set, and you wish for inspiration - do you search the stamp sets name to see what comes up? I hope so - because that is how I titled this post! I used the above listed Stampin' Up Stamp Sets and die to create this beautiful Mini Accordion Flip Album.

Aren't the colours fabulous together?  I used more of the paper from Kaisercraft's 12x12 paper pad named Antique Rose.  The flowers on the cover and on the tag are also Kaisercraft products - paper flowers in Sepia and Taupe.  I have used pearl brads for the flower centres and pearls in the corners.  The leaves are a Stampin Up Sizzix die named Little Leaves.

I have stamped some leaves and little birds in the corners of some of the panels.

The gorgeous roses on the paper and the Sentiments on the tag and on the cover give this mini accordion album a feeling of love and elegance.

There is 11 places in this album to add photos! I have give basic instructions on how to create these gorgeous Mini Accordion Flip Albums in the previous post - they are so quick and easy to make!

This Mini Accordion Flip Album is available to purchase in online store:

See you soon with the next Mini Album I have lined up to share with you...

Stampin' Up Flower Shop Gift Card Folder

Hello,

How's things? Today I have another gift idea - everyone I have given one of these folders to seems to love them....

I have used Stampin' Up Ribbon for embellishment on the front and for tying the folder closed, and in various co-ordinating colours I have stamped a selection of flowers from Stampin' Up's Flower Shop stamp set.

Little Leaves is the name of the die I have used for the leaves and the Birdcage and Bird are cut using a Prickley Pear die.

Inside these folders I have included 4 gift cards and envelopes to suit.

These folders do make a fantastic gift - the only problem being no-one has wanted to give the gift cards away!!

See you again soon,

Treasure Chest

Hello
Today I am sharing with you a chest which I have created.
Great for a special gift, or as a friend suggested, perfect as an Easter egg casket.

The base of the chest is an open box with a collar attached around the inside top and extending 1.5 cm. above the top. This is to hold the lid in place and to support the shape.

The lid is curved and has rounded ends and extends over the top and down the back which is attached to the back of the base.
When making the lid, the front section has to be attached to the ends first, then the curved section, and finally the back edges.
This is then attached to the back of the box base.

I have covered the chest with patterned paper (from my stash), then wrapped a ribbon round the top of the base section.
Tulle ribbon roses from Stampin'up are fixed round and over the lid sections.
I have used metallic paper to add a punched strip across the front base and scalloped oval and flower punched trim to the four corners. A rhinestone is added to the two front corners.
A silver foil embossed, die cut padlock (Spellbinders) is added to the front base with a small brass key

Flowers (from Petal loo), die cut leaves (also Spellbinders), bakers twine and rhinestones embellish the front and lid of the chest. I have tucked a couple of decorative pins, which I  made using headpins and acrylic beads, behind the  larger flower on the lid.

There are three rhinestones tucked into the lower right corner of the front lid.

I hope you have enjoyed today's visit and have found this project inspiring.

Make It Crafty - Mushroom House - Mini Canvas

Good Morning - another beautiful Sunday morning!!

Don't you just love mushrooms - don't like to eat them (only on pizza of course).  This beautiful mushroom is a Make it Crafty rubber stamp named - Mushroom House.  I needed to make a birthday gift for a person who loves fairies - I have angel stamps, many little girl stamps, princess stamps but surprisingly - no fairy stamps.....   So, when flicking through my catalogue of stamps - (yes every stamp that I own I have stamped into a catalogue i.e. a ring binder - so I know what I have and where to find it in my craft room) - I saw this Mushroom House and knowing I have fairy charms thought it would be perfect!

I stamped and black embossed the mushroom house image and coloured it with Twinkling H2Os.  I used diamond glaze and glitter to 'highlight' white parts of the mushroom.  First I covered the canvas with patterned paper (freebie from a magazine).  Used part of a strip of grass along the bottom from a Sizzix Grass Die.  Added a saying which reads:

Live among the flowers
Dance with the petals
Laugh in the sunshine

Inspiring isn't it! The saying is from Prickley Pears stamp set - Flowers.  I black embossed this on white, mounted it on the same patterned paper and them mounted it again on black to make it stand out.  I then added my Fairy charm with a brad and sat this in behind the corner of the house.  I hadn't originally put the sun on there but felt it was lacking something - my beautiful crafty friend (who I was crafting with at the time) suggested a "sun" to fit in with the saying - so I used the sun from Pollycraft Surf's Up stamp set.  I clear embossed this on yellow card and it goes perfectly - thank you crafty friend - great suggestion!

Added a red ribbon around the bottom and made a double bow for the corner and ta-da finished!
This was one of those 'secret' birthday presents - so I have no idea of the recipients reaction - hope she loved it!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
