My Mind's Eye - Sleigh Bells Ring - Branches Christmas Card - Owl

Hello,

I am sure you all know...  I have an obsession with owls... so as soon as I saw these Branches from My Mind's Eye - Sleigh Bells Ring paper range - I knew I needed to have an owl sitting in them!

I die-cut a Spellbinder's Holiday Winter owl, gave him a green scarf and created a snowflake with Whiff of Joy Snowflake Trio die for the bottom right corner of the card.  Before adding the snowflake to the card, I embossed it with Ranger's Embossing Tinsel - Bridal.  The "Merry Christmas" is a Dusty Attic Chipboard which I have coloured with gel pens and then coated in glossy accents.

How cute is this owl? It looks like the paper was made just for him!!

Only a couple more Christmas creations to share with you...

Simple Stories - Cozy Christmas - Happy Holidays - Stationery Gift Pack...

Hello,

Sometimes, it is hard to find a gift for someone who has everything, and I usually like to try to give gifts that are useful, so I have created these gift packs which make fantastic gifts for well,  almost anyone!

A stationery pack..... includes a notebook, a pencil, a bookmark, a covered post-it notes book and a co-ordinating tag...

Doesn't it look great all packaged up in a cellophane bag, tied with the tag and then...

placed inside a co-ordinating gift bag!

Here are some of the other packs I have created with their matching bags.

When I created these packs, I had a bit of a "Teacher Thank-you gift" theme happening...
 Can you tell??

Not long now until the Jolly man comes!!

Ornaments

Hello

Today I am sharing with you some Christmas decorations I created.

This first is a little lantern for the table or shelf. It is simply a box and lid with added side panels of acetate taped to corner sections of card, and panels added to the top and base. The lid is decorated with paper and a die cut poinsettia and leaves, and the side panels with stickers coloured with glaze pen. An internal base with a die cut circle stops the tea light from sliding round. Glitter glue adds sparkle.

This forest of trees is based on styrofoam cones and is covered in rows paper strips. The star toppers are each four die cut stars glued together with a toothpick in the centre. Glitter glue edges all paper strips and the stars.

Finally, we have a little lantern for the tree. For this I used a strip of card, scored and with both ends punched with a Stampin'up  scalloped tag topper punch.  I added panels for the sides. The windows are die cut with an ornament die used upside down and are covered with gold foiled vellum. Edges are inked with white craft ink. The Merry Christmas is stamped and embossed in white. A ribbon bow and a cord hanging loop, and glitter glue round the windows, finish off the design.
Enjoy

Tim Holtz - Assembly Snowman - Square Christmas Card...

Hello,

I absolutely love snow, but where we live in sunny Northern Australia, sad to say, there is no such thing!  Anyhow, while dreaming of holidays in the snow, I have created this card to share with you...

How cute is Tim's Snowman???  Especially when he is featured on this fantastic paper from My Mind's Eye!

This was a fun part!!!  Using left-over scrap pieces to create the snowman...

Next, time to get messy!!  Using a scraper (or an old credit card) and your chosen stencil, apply a layer of white gesso to the paper.  Lightly sprinkle glitter onto the wet gesso.

After gesso is dry, adhere your layers together, add ribbon and brads, I also hung 3 snowflake charms, starting at the ribbon to give the illusion of falling snowflakes.

Add distress stickles picket fence to your snowman and the project is finished.

Don't forget to line your card for that professional look.

Hehe... it looks like the snowman is catching a snowflake!!
Wish I was catching one right about now!

My Mind's Eye - Sleigh Bells Ring - Reindeer Card in a box...

Good Morning,

I just love these 'card in a box' creations - they are so much fun to make.  I have created this one with paper from My Mind's Eye - Sleigh Bells Ring - Reindeer.  Add some Dusty Attic Chipboard and tada!!!

The back view - great place to write your message...

I followed instructions from a UK Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine Issue 132 - the Card in a box featured was created by Paula Holifield. I did however, make my card shorter than the card featured in the mag. (I have also seen instructions on youtube for making a card in a box)

These cards can be folded flat to be placed in an envelope! Cool huh!?!

If you wish to see a bit more information on how I created this card and a list of the products used, please visit Wild About Scrap's blog.

See you soon,

HCPC- Delicate Asters

Hi there

Just a quick drop in today to share a card made for a beautiful & special young lady

I used Heartfelt Creations - Delicate, Asters - papers, stamps and dies for the card, which is based on Stampin'up perfect plum card.
I first matted a square of paper on to deep plum Co-ordinations card, then stamped the asters in three sizes on to patterned paper and die cut with the corresponding dies, I also stamped the leaf on patterned paper and die cut. I distressed all edges and fixed with dimensionals to the card front which was matted with paper. Some lace ribbon was added to the open aster on the paper then the leaf and the assembled asters were layered above the paper images. A black rhinestone swirl was added, some gold rhinestones to the aster centres, and a clear rhinestone 18 fixed to the top right corner. An insert was then added to the card.
I hope you enjoy this card.
How is your Christmas crafting going?  Remember to keep happy crafting.
Till next time

Stampin' Up - Festival of Trees - Christmas Cards...

Hello,

Hope you have been having lots of crafty days!  Barb has shared with you some cards created with Stampin' Up's Festival of Trees and today I have more to share with you...

All three cards were created with Cherry Cobbler Card bases, a layer of white card and the patterned papers are from Stampin' Up's Designer Series Paper Stack - Trim The Tree.

Each card also has a layer of acetate on the top, onto which I have heat embossed trees in various embosssing powders. (I think it may actually be laminating cut-offs I have used as when I have embossed on to the acetate, it has not melted... some brands of acetate would melt, where as laminating cut-offs are used to the heat from a laminator and did not buckle as I heated the embossing powder.)

The above photo is a close-up of the snowflake card, where I have embossed with Stamp World's Psychedelic Sparkle embossing powder.  I coloured the trees on the paper with markers - greens and brown.

The stars for each card were actually silver - I have coloured them with Tim Holtz Ranger Adirondack Brights - Watermelon Alcohol Ink.  The trees on the above and below cards were white embossed onto the patterned paper.  Green (verdigris) embossing powder was used on the above and white embossing below for the acetate layer.

The ribbon was recycled from Lindt Chocolate rabbits (you were wondering where you had seen it before, weren't you?)

Thanks for visiting, see you again soon

Kaszazz Levi & Lola

Hello Everyone

I am sharing with you today, a card and tags featuring Kaszazz Levi & Lola stamps

I have used a white card base, matted with patterned paper. The Christmas Banners is stamped and white embossed on Black card.
Levi & Lola, (summer of course), we are in the tropics, have been coloured with watercolour pencils.
Shading was done with Distress inks -Pumice stone & Peeled paint. The sentiment is from Christian Christmas.

For the tags I used a natural white card base and the same inks and pencils. The paper is Kaszazz starry night reverse. The sentiment is from Christian Christmas and the To & From stamp.

The tags have die cut leaves attached with a brad. This was spritzed with Glimmer mist before adding to the tag base.

Glitter glue was added to the furry collars and cuffs, and used to outline the image labels.

Add some cheer to your Christmas crafting with these adorable little people.

Till next time-keep happy crafting
