Mini Canvas - Create - Handmade Swap Spring 2014

Good Morning,

I am not sure if I have told you - I am a member of a Handmade Swap Group in Australia.  We are given a name and a small profile of another member, whom we are to send our gift to...  My recipient this time is a papercrafter herself, so I created a mini canvas for her...

First I cut a square of calico, large enough to cover the 6x6 canvas, then using pinking shears I cut a square of patterned material smaller than the canvas front.  I hand-sewed this square to the centre of the calico and then adhered these to the canvas using double sided hi-tack tape and my hot glue gun. Also using the hot glue gun, I adhered a strip of gold sequins and a beaded ribbon down the left hand side of the patterned material.   My next step was to crochet 3 flowers and a butterfly in colours that co-ordinated with the beautiful patterned fabric.

I adhered a selection of acrylic flower centres to the flowers and a bead cut from the beaded ribbon to create the butterfly's body. Next I added a Label featuring the word "Create" (Stamp and label punch are Stampin' Up products). Beautiful isn't it???  My recipient has received her Canvas - she says she is looking forward to hanging it in her new craft room!

I thought I would also show you the back... I needed to hide all the folds of the calico, the best thing to do was to use a thicker piece of card and adhere this using my hot glue gun - folds hidden and gold sequin ends tucked under.  Also in my package to this recipient, I crocheted some more flowers and butterflies so she can use them however she wishes....

Glitz - Yours Truly Floral Tri-Fold Card

Hello, how's things?

Todays card is a beautiful Tri-Fold card created using a fabulous Floral Paper from the Glitz - Yours Truly range named Floral.  The gorgeous colours are Autumn colours so I used Stampin' Up's More Mustard for the base card and Very Vanilla for the Wording, inside panel and underneath layers for the butterflies.

The "Happy Birthday" is die-cut using an Elizabeth Craft Designs Die.  I have also used Glossy Accents on the wording.

The Gold Vine is a Cre8tive Border Icons Stamp which I gold embossed on the inside panel as well as the front and inside back panels.  Throughout the card and on the butterflies - I have gold embossed a Confetti Stamp from Stampin' Up.

I punched out the butterflies with two different sized Stampin' Up Butterfly punches, double layered both sizes and used red rhinestones for the bodies.  I added a gold ribbon down the edge of the front.

Here is a closed view of the card.

Hope you are having a crafty day!

Inspirational Journal cover

Hello Everyone

For my latest project I have been playing with several mixed media products. I intend this piece to be the cover for an art journal.
All the products used are from Kaszazz.

I have based it on a chipboard  6x6 drilled album cover. The background is created using Distress paints in Stormy sky and bundled sage then brushed over with gesso. Patterned paper strips were added using glue and seal then more gesso. The crumbling brick wall is gesso sponged over the brick stencil, then when dry, sponged with fired brick and walnut stain distress inks. The images were then stamped using images from Silhouette leaves, Happy butterflies, Net, Springtime and the vine from Dream, believe, achieve sets and archival inks. Washi tape butterflies and inspiration were added. Sentiments from Affirmations were stamped and cut out, the bird from Inspirational flight was stamped on to gessoed card then cut out, and all added using glue and seal. The whole piece was then brushed over with glue and seal.
I hope this inspires you to play with your products.
Till next time- be happy crafting

Stampin'up Wondrous Wreath

Hi

For this set of cards I have been playing with Stampin'up new set Wondrous Wreath. There is a corresponding set of framelits dies, and this makes it so easy.

For this trifold card the wreath was stamped in olive and mossy meadow on to white card. The berries were stamped in versamark and embossed in silver, then again in gold, and then cherry cobbler, offsetting the image slightly each time. Card used is cherry cobbler, white, gold foil and natural ivory. Stamp sets used are Wondrous wreath, Endless wishes, Holiday Home & Bright & Beautiful.

This card is on an olive base. The wreath is stamped in the same colours and the berries stamped in cherry cobbler. Rhinestones are placed on the stamped berries. Red foil paper is used for the bow and red glimmer card for the oval frame. The Noel is die cut from gold foil card.

For the tag the wreath is stamped in versamark on to meadow card and embossed in white. This was done a second time, offsetting the image slightly. The bow was stamped in versamark on to gold foil card, embossed in iridescent ice and die cut. The flowers are embossed in cherry cobbler on to cherry cobbler card. Gold glitter glue was used for highlights.
These are just a few ideas for this set.  I hope they give you some inspiration for your Christmas crafting.
Till next time- Happy Christmas creating.

Pocket note cards

Hello
I recently had a request for small gift ideas that were a little different and came up with these pocket note cards.

I used Kaszazz journal pockets and using a stencil, sprayed the front and back faces with a Lindy's Stamp Gang mist. I then collage stamped using images from Kaszazz Asian Botanicals and Hummingbird sets. Inks used were Archival coffee, pesto, cobalt and red geranium. The flowers and bird cage  were tinted using distress markers. The note cards are made from Stampin'up vanilla card, and the 1" circle punch used for the pull tabs. Glitter glue highlights the flowers and berries on the pockets.
These little pocket cards could be used for many occasions, and tied together with a ribbon make a lovely gift.
Till next time - happy crafting

Australia Mini Canvas...

Hello.

I am still playing with my Australian animal and Australia Map stamps...

Here is another Mini Canvas I have created for a Friend's Japanese Niece, who was visiting for a week...

I stamped and black embossed the animal images, coloured the kangaroo, koala and kookaburra with watercolour pencils.  I coloured the Darkroom Door Butterfly with copic marker and then glossy accented all of the animals.

I added ribbon with a brass Australia charm, also added a sticker to the map of Australia which is an Eclectic Images stamp, as is the wording.

See you again soon,

Australian Wine Tags

Hi,

Now, this is something I had not made before - love trying new things...   My friend and I have had some Japanese visitors and we wanted to make something Australian as a gift -  and as they are wine drinkers, this is what we have come up with...

Wine Tags..... Perfect with that bottle of Australian Red...

Aren't they just gorgeous!!!  The paper we used is from a Bella Paper Pad, the "Australia" is an Eclectic Stamp and the koala is a die made by Cheery Lynn Designs.  Thank-you to my beautiful friend, we enjoyed our own bottle while making these!

Hope our friends enjoy their "Australian" bottles...
