Covered Notebook...

Good Morning,

We have a long weekend this weekend - yay, yay - an extra day for crafting - you have to love that!!

I went to a craft session ages ago and won a pack that included a 12x12 sheet paper, 2 x A4 coloured cardstock, ribbon and a brad.  When looking through my stash I came across this pack again and this is what I have created with it...

A covered notebook.  Aren't the colours really eye popping!?!  Love it!!

Inside the front cover I created 2 pockets and in these pockets I have placed bookmarks / gift tags.
I have also added a ribbon to the notebook itself as a placekeeper.

This is a great sized notebook to keep in your handbag - you could use the pockets for receipts etc.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,

Anpanman - A Japanese Superhero

Ohayo gozaimasu! Good Morning!

Don't worry I will give you the english version! (I wish I could speak more Japanese than just a couple of words!)  My next scrapbook layout is of the Japanese animation and book character Anpanman.  He is a superhero who helps children in need -  for example if they are hungry he will feed them as his head is made from a Japanese bread roll filled with bean jam...

Aren't the colours just awesome!?!

Anpanman is one of my Daughter's favourite Japanese characters - we found these toys in a Shopping Street in Tokyo.

If you would like to have more of a look at my layout please visit Wild About Scrap's Blog where I have blogged step by step instructions on how I created my page and a list of the products used.

Don't forget to have a close look for my hidden tag, my heart brad and my LOVE wording - my personal touches to my scrapbook layouts.

Sayonara,
Bye for now, visit again soon

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Frosty Zoo Review

Frosty Zoo Review

Shades of blue and white.
Stamp the polar bear and penguin onto pieces of white card, using grey ink, and sponge around the images with baja ink. Distress the edges of the bear piece.
Make the card base from Soft sky and sponge baja breeze ink over the front. Attach a strip of blue vellum to the left side.
On a smaller piece of textured card die cut an oval aperture in the upper left, then emboss in a dotted folder.
Tape the penguin image behind the aperture. Stamp a sentiment onto a narrow strip of card, cut the end to a point and attach, tucking the end behind the embossed panel and a brad to the point.
Place a strip of seam binding across the centre of the card, looping the left end.
Mat the bear image to a piece of embossed blue vellum, add a brad to the corner and attach to the panel with dimensionals. Tape the embossed assembled panel to the card front. Add rhinestones to the animal's eyes.
To add the frosty finish, apply Frosted lace stickles around the base of the bear and the penguin feet, and to some of the dotty bubbles.
This stamp set is about to retire, so if you don't have it now is the time to purchase.
Till next time, be happy crafting

Acetate overlay card.

Hello

The 6 1/2" paper pads from Kaisercraft are the perfect size for cardmaking.

Curiousity paper pad and Collectables were used for this card.
Ink used for stamping is Spiced Marmalade distress ink.
The stamped images are from Kaszazz sets.

For this card, rather than cutting the paper, I simply folded in half with the design on the outside. I stamped a sentiment and some images on the plain white reverse side, and slightly rounded the corners.
An acetate sheet was then cut 1/2 cm. larger than the paper, scored down the centre and the corners rounded.
A strip of ribbon was taped down the front left side, and the paper card was then taped to the inside, ensuring the tape was placed behind the ribbon.
A label from the collectables was stamped with a sentiment and attached to the outside of the overlay with glue dots.
A satin vine ribbon was attached, and the label outlined with perfect pearls.

I hope you enjoy this idea and try it yourself.
Till next time

Fancy Pants - Birthday Cards

Hello

How are you??  Hope all is great in your crafty land!  I really enjoy making cards - I actually get just as much enjoyment from creating  really detailed - lots of layers, lots of elements type cards as I do from simple ones - whether it is because when you are creating simple ones you have that sense of achievement - there is a pile of finished cards beside you...  Which do you prefer to create - simple or detailed?

Also, when you are creating simple cards - you can try out new products or new techniques, as well as using smaller pieces in your stash of papers.

Here are some of the quick and easy cards I created to refill my card box...

Weaving, buttons with twine, feature buttons, punches, strips - all quick and easy!

I had some pieces of papers left over from creating the Baby Mini Albums using the papers from Fancy Pants ranges from Wild About Scrap. If you would like to see more instructional details and a list of the products, please visit  Wild About Scrap's Blog.

Back soon,

Creating with BaRb-Stampin'up-Summer Silhouettes-Thinking of you

Summer Silhouettes-Thinking of you
The card base is white. The first layer is Whisper White and is embossed in the Mosiac folder and the edges distressed,  before taping to the base.
On to white card the trellis is stamped in Crumb Cake ink, then the leaves in olive ink, stamped twice. The little flower wheels are stamped in Raspberry Ripple ink. Using versamark ink, stamp the sentiment from Sassy Salutations and emboss in Espresso powder. The edges of this panel are then distressed and the panel attached to the card front, using dimensionals.
A corner was punched (using photo corner punch) and attached to the top right corner with glue dots.
rhinestone was added to the top left corner, and smaller rhinestones to some of the flower wheel centres.

Australian Cards - Stampin' Up Thinlits Label Cards

Good Morning!

Strewth mate - it's raining here again in sunny Queensland!

(Hehe - I am cracking myself up - does anybody really actually say - 'strewth mate' ?????)

Anyway, sidetracked again...  I have created today's cards with Stampin' Up's Thinlits Label Card die - but have added a section onto the end of the card (Thanks Barb - great idea!!) to give you more room to write when using the card.

I have used papers from a Bella Australiana Paper Pad, cardstock, stamps are from Kaszazz Australian Animals set, Eclectic Images, Stampin' Up and an Australian Geographic Font Set.

I also used an embossing folder on each of the cards on the left panel.

How cheeky is the koala with his G'day popping up when you flip the card???

A kangaroo charm (purchased from ebay) with co-ordinating ribbon add an extra feature to this card.

There's that cheeky koala again!

A cocktail pick Australian Flag went perfectly with this background paper.

No cheeky koala - but - G'day from Downunder...

This was the last of the Australia Cards I have created in this session - soon I will share with you the small canvases I have made as gifts to go with the cards.

Strewth mate - I am at the end of this post...
Have a good one mate!
